The Scam Blogging Movement And Entry Level 'careers'

By Jason Freeman

You are trying to find a company to work for, but what should you be relying on? Word of mouth, company review sites, or scam blog sites that ridicule a company or just maybe go to the source? Today it's hard to look at job search without skimming a blog that illustrates the company at large as an oblique exploiter its employees. This writing is constantly found on the web.

A lot of these scam blogs and company review sites are written by folks with no work ethic or drive so they would rather feel better by mocking and griping about a company that gave this writer the opportunity to a career and asked only that the person do the hard work and strive. Now for those of you looking to find real work and succeed in a career you will be happy to be a part of, here a few helpful hints will get you ready to go.

Review the job boards. Job sites do help. Monster.com, jobbuilder.com, Indeed.com and Beyond.com are but a few of the acclaimed sites that help find work in your area and also gives you what to expect of each job. These sites are readily available to assist you in getting that job that fits you best. An example is I found DMA Portland is launching both entry level and management positions. And all I did was to see what was available in the area.

Check out BBB.org. The Better Business Bureau is there to keep businesses obligated for their actions. Following up with genuine complaints and grievances against the company as well as the compliments of companies' commitments to their employees and clients, the hiring process and the goals they conform to.

Check the company's website. With any company large or small it is common they will have a company website that review their pursuits, establishing their identity, what they expect from their employees, their physical location and all their contact information. Review this information carefully. This time saving idea really assists when looking at jobs and gives you clarity on the company's standings.

Speak with the contact. All of the reviews, homework, and calculating of what the company does is great but you still have questions unanswered. Speak with the human resources and pitch your subject matter. Is this company offering stock options, 401K, health and dental benefits? Listen closely to what he or she has to say, put some notes together and explain what you know of the company you've been reviewing to show you are ready to being immediately. Be professional and courteous during and after the conversation.

Beyond the scam boards and complaint sites is plenty to read and give you a better understanding of each company and what their purpose is. Establishing contact at your choice company warrants you better idea and allows you feel out the staff you will be working with. A careful review of these steps will contribute to an exceptional job and more control of your life. Use your head and weigh all the options before you make your final decision.
