Essential Considerations To Make In Brass Embossing Engraving

By Pamela Taylor

Brass is a common product used in most metal decoration processes. It is preferred due to its versatility making it the best metal for such processes. Embossing is the creation of decorations on a metal surface by raising the reverse side to make an image on the frontier side. Engraving includes the removing of metallic materials on the surface to make an image. Detailed from below are relevant considerations about brass embossing engraving to bear in mind.

Use of laser technology for quality results. The use of the laser is popular in most modern decoration process. It is popular in making small etches in tiny products since it does not remove a lot of debris. Also, there is no physical contact between the machine and the metallic product making it a perfect choice for small products. It produces clear images compared with other processes.

Use of Computer Numerical Control machine. These machines are usually called the CNC. It is similar to the traditional hand etching but in this case, depends on a machine which is computer controlled. It can be able to make a two dimensional or three-dimensional shapes with bold texture. It is commonly used in engraving brass trophies, badges, and other products.

Hand etching. The entire process considers the level of experience that a craftsman has to achieve a remarkable outcome. The expert uses a unique pattern on a respective surface to create grooves. It creates deeper grooves compared with other methods and can also produce a two or three-dimensional image as well.

Use of foil to emboss. A foil is used to draw the image to be used in decorating, and then use it to draw the decorations on surface of a brass metal plate. The plates are supposed to be thin slice the drawings are deepened using a special stylus. It does not bring a suitable effect on the surface since it uses the pressure that is exacted by the craftsman.

The use of heat and pressure to emboss. Embossing techniques are quite different from the etching processes. Heat and pressure methods depend on special machine which use heat to emboss an image on a surface of a product. A special die is used in this process to ensure that the decorations are clear as well as a soft foil which contains the image. Common machines which are used include the roll press, clam-shell, and the straight press.

The combination process. The approach involves the use of a foil stamp and embossing at the same time. It starts with the embossing process then the foiling procedure to produce a clear image. There should be a very close registration that keeps the image and foil close to each other to produce a precise image. A combination die is used in this process to make it effective and is used to break excess foil away from the part which has been embossed.

Rely on an expert. Most of these procedure expects one to have several machines to be handled by the respective clients. Therefore, it is recommendable to consider the intervention of a professional to achieve remarkable outcomes. Choose a professional who has been trained in this process and is renowned for delivering remarkable outcomes. One should also have the ability to complete these tasks on time.
