5 Steps To Making A Video

In this article, I'll show you the few simple steps you to take in order to make a video and market that video effectively online.

So whether you are an online entrepreneur, local business owner, author or coach, you can start making quick and easy videos with these simple steps.

First, you need to identify the OBJECTIVE of your video.

Every video begins with your intention. What is the GOAL of your video? what do you want to accomplish? Once you identify what you want your video to do, it's much easier to execute it.

The next step, is to outline or script it. Take a moment to plan and script your video. Be concise and keep your video short. If you don't, you'll end up rambling on and on and on.

Turning the camera on and "winging it" is a scary option. It will most likely leave you with a long, rambling version of a video that most people will click off and avoid. Not good. That's why step #2 is to take a moment to plan and script your video. Be concise and keep your video short.

Step #3: Record it!

We've used iPhones, GoPRO's, dSLRs, and handycams. The best camera is the one that you will actually use.

Make sure to grab a tripod, and properly lighting so your video looks more professional.

The next step is to edit your original footage. The software I recommend is Screenflow (Mac only). If you're on a PC, I recommend Sony Vegas or Camtasia. However, editing can be the biggest bottleneck to your editing...so it's always best to outsource it if you can.

Once you have finishing the editing of your video, and you have successfully exported the video, it's time to UPLOAD it to the Internet for the world to see.

Now it's time for the exciting part...broadcasting your video! This most likely means you'll be posting your video to YouTube.com. But the real magic in using YouTube is in HOW you optimize your videos to get ranked and viewed.

This will be determined by several factors such as authority, relevancy and engagement. Another effective strategy is consistency.

Don't let technology or a fear of being in front of the camera hold you back. Take action now to start making multiple marketing videos in your business so you can get more traffic and build a powerful brand that gets you more sales!
