Bursting Flavors That Makes A Best Basting Sauce For Barbecue

Whether a meat has to be grilled, fried or roasted, basting it before cooking improves its tastes as well as texture. This method has been widely practiced by almost all people as this gives a delicious flavor to the meat. When having a barbecue party, it is very important to have or make the best BBQ basting sauce. True enough, there are a lot of different procedures and ingredients when it comes to basting.

The cooking technique of basting is somehow considered to be the preparation before having the meat cooked. Others call it marinating where meats are being dipped overnight on a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar and some herbs. Although, this varies for some because others got a unique ways and ingredients when marinating.

Marinating has a lot of benefits. Aside from the fact that it enhances the taste of the raw flesh from absorbing the mixture, it also gives tender texture on meat. When it is tender, it gets easier to cook . However, there are instances when ingredients that are used are not suitable that it causes the meat to dry up instead and it is no longer appealing to eat.

Grilling and roasting does the basting usually before and after. So is the barbecue, it may be marinated before cooking it. But if it is the sauce for barbecue, it commonly is called a mop sauce because barbecue mop is used and not basting mop. A barbecue mop is usually dipped on the mixture and is wiped all over the raw flesh while cooking.

If the raw meat is not marinated but instead is rubbed with powdered seasonings and using the barbecue mop would wipe off the powder, better use a spray bottle. Although when using such, the spices and herbs has to be grounded very well. If not, it would stuck on the spray tube, using warm water to have it completely mixed may help.

To make a good basting sauce some of the spices that will be mentioned should be added on it. First is the cumin powder, its aroma is good due to its natural content of essential oil. This gives volume to the taste of the condiment as it tends to give somewhat hot savor in it.

A slight amount of brown sugar is also adds a sweet and salty flavor on the mixture. This controls the saltiness of blended mix. The contrast between the two distinct taste is great flavoring to the barbecue. It would be better to add few chili powder or depends on how spicy it is that is desired.

Adding oregano herb can be of two use, one is it may be very healthy and second is its minty flavor spice up the condiment. Along with the mint should be the condiment Worcestershire sauce. Worcestershire that is a common ingredient for umami is widely used to enhance foods.

Cayenne pepper and paprika is the best spice to finish the entire sauce. This would add a subtle sweet and hot variety of flavor. Paprika got warm aroma as well like cumin. Not to forget adding enough water to mix it all up.
