Approach To Milk Tank And Silo

By Tammie Caldwell

Large scale dairy farming is a common practice to people who have massive acres of land, it is recommended for these farmers to install cooling containers in their farms to store their cow products in them temporarily without damaging. These cooling containers can be fitted on trucks which then are used to transport the content over long distance and still remain fresh. Milk tank and silo are the perfect solutions for any dairy farmer.

Most of the storage tanks are made of stainless steel and they are used every day to keep and store fresh lacteal secretion on their firms in best conditions possible. The storage facilities should be thoroughly cleaned immediately after each and every milk collection. These lacteal secretion tanks can be acquired through purchasing from suppliers and for farmers who are short of capital can enjoy the benefits of these massive storage facilities through renting them from nearby dairy plants.

The process of how lacteal secretion gets from the cow to the store starts from a farmer rearing dairy cattle, harvesting dairy product from cows should be done twice or thrice in a day, the process of milking has been mechanized today reducing the time taken for milking.

After milking your cows the next stop is storing it in the storage silos which are refrigerated and are of several sizes and shapes. The lacteal secretion is stored at very low degrees in the cooler but only forty eight hours or less. Silos and containers are agitated to ensure the content is cold and to prevent milk from separating from fat.

These storage tanks consist of outer and inner wall both of which are made of stainless steel of high quality. The two layer of wall create a space which is filled or isolated using polyurethane foam. In the event that power fails the exterior temperature will warm the content only by a little Celsius of about one degree.

Cooling systems methods are primary two, and they depend on capacity of the tank, your herd size, frequency of collection, calving pattern, quality of milk required and availability of power and water. Speedy and efficiency in milking process is very vital for preserving the product quality, immediately after milking the temperatures are thirty five degrees Celsius and this heat is quickly removed by pumping it in a cooling container.

Cooling containers for dairy products come into two different types, you can have open tanks convenient for liters below three hundred, or one can have closed containers which has the capacity to hold large liters of about ten thousand.

One inlet is supposed to be covered using air vent while other inlets pump content into the container. Another thing to remember is to fit the container with four or six legs that are easily adjustable. To ensure all the content flow into to the container tilt are installed in the interior wall.

At least more than half of the containers should be fitted with control box, these control box regulates cooling process using a thermostat. This allows the user to turn off and on to have time to clean these containers, turn it off when they want to stir the content properly and to turn it off when they want to reset the system in the event of failure.
