Regardless of this, it is up to the members to find someone who will take the position allowing their work to go on as usual. Make a decision with the other group members about how long the new member will stay and if his or her opinions will have to count on changing the agreements make before his or her arrival.

Avoid picking an individual who is closely affiliated to you. Choosing a friend to fill the seat will not go well with the rest of the members. For instance, if the previous leader let due to having strong ties with one of the members, then it would not be wise to bring in someone who has a close relationship with you. Unless you are recusing yourself, this is not the way to go.

The individual you choose has to be willing to carry out his or her duties as a member of the group. If at all there is some show of disinterest or the person turns out to be incompetent, then you need to replace the person with a more deserving individual. It is always important to take note of this before it is too late.

When it comes down to reputation, choose an individual who is reliable and competent. The person needs to be as hardworking as the rest of the group and should be in good terms with people. The committee needs to replace their fellow with a person who will not dishonor the seat its irresponsibility or bad behavior.
